Stephanie Mills is a contemporary British artist whose work is held in international collections, with collectors including public figures and leading institutions.
Her work is exhibited both nationally and overseas including with prestigious organisations such as the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Society of Graphic Fine art. In 2022 Mills was shortlisted for both the Derwent Art Prize and the British Art Prize.
Mills focuses on both portraiture and landscapes. For her portraiture work she is interested in creating more cinematic and atmospheric pieces whilst maintaining a strong emphasis on drawing and structure. Through observing light and how it interplays with form she looks to create pieces that evoke a moment of quiet contemplation in the viewer. Through her use of colour, composition and mark making, her landscapes seek to describe the beauty of the natural world, evoking a feeling of being there.
